Media Release

The Hawai‘i Police Department invites the public to participate in two Coffee With a Cop events next week in Kea‘au and Waimea.

  • Puna District Community Policing officers will hold the Kea‘au Coffee With a Cop event on Tuesday, October 24, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, in the Kea‘au Shopping Center, 16-586 Old Volcano Road.
  • South Kohala Community Policing officers will hold a Coffee With a Cop event in Waimea on Thursday, October 26, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Waimea Coffee Company, in Parker Square, 65-1279 Kawaihae Road.

These popular police outreach events are a great opportunity for community members to get to know the police officers who work in their district. These events are casual and have no agenda. Topics of conversation can range from sharing personal stories to answering questions or even discussing neighborhood or community issues.

If you have any questions regarding the Kea‘au Coffee With a Cop event, please contact Puna Community Policing at (808) 965-2716. For questions regarding the Waimea event, please contact South Kohala Community Policing at (808) 887-3080.
