Chief Harry S. Kubojiri has announced upcoming promotions of five employees from the rank of police officer to the rank of sergeant/detective:

  • Sergeant Erich D. Jackson, a 10-year veteran of the Hawaiʻi Police Department, will be assigned to the South Kohala District. He is currently assigned to Kona Patrol.
  • Sergeant Bryan I. R. Tina, a 10-year-veteran of the Police Department, will be assigned to the Puna District. He now works as a school resource officer in Hilo.
  • Detective Pernell E. Hanoa, an 11-year veteran of the Police Department, will be assigned to the Area II Criminal Investigations Section in Kona. His current assignment is in the Kaʻū District.
  • Detective Brandon K. Mansur, an 8-year veteran of the Police Department, will be assigned to the Area II Juvenile Aid Section in Kona. He is now assigned to Kona Patrol.
  • Detective Bobbie-Jo K. Sagon, an 11-year-veteran of the Police Department, will be assigned to the Area I Criminal Investigations Section in Hilo. She is currently assigned to the Criminal Intelligence Unit.

The promotions take effect on November 16.
