MEDIA RELEASE

A 20-year-old Puna man was arrested for allegedly breaking into the office of a car dealer on Kinoole Street early Wednesday (September 8, 2004).

The suspect, identified as Jamison Robert Tai, of an Orchid Land Estates subdivision address, was charged with second-degree burglary and is being held in the Hilo police cellblock in lieu of $4,500 bail.

Responding to an alarm about 1:37 a.m. Wednesday, Hilo patrol officers determined that an interior glass door of the car dealer’s office had been broken and there was blood on the ground and wall.

About 2:35 a.m., officers observed a man with a bandage on his hand walking south on Kapiolani Street. They found two sets of keys hanging from his waistband. The keys were later identified as being taken from the burglarized office.
