3-15-23 Police Continue Search for Missing Man Daniel Peaster

Hawai‘i Island police are renewing their request for the public’s assistance in locating 27-year-old Daniel Josiah Peaster, formerly of Pahoa.

Peaster was initially reported missing in mid-November 2022 and was believed to be heading to the North Kohala district to camp in the Pololu Valley area. Police have received information that Peaster may still be camping/living in the Pololu Valley, or further valleys in, and occasionally may come out of the valley for supplies. Peaster may also be operating a blue van.   

He is described as 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Police ask anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of, or who may have seen Peaster, to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311, or Detective Paul Mangus of the Area I Criminal Investigation Section at (808) 961-2383 or email Paul.Mangus@hawaiicounty.gov.
