Hawai‘i Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 17-year-old Makahiki Ikaika Moala, who was reported as a runaway. Moala was last seen in Hilo on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. wearing grey shorts, grey hoody and shoes.

He is described as having a dark complexion and slim build, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with brown eyes and dark wavy hair that is sometimes dyed.

Moala is known to frequent the Panaewa and Keaukaha areas of Hilo.

Police ask anyone who may have information on Moala’s whereabouts to contact Acting Detective Corey M. Kaneko at (808) 961-8843 or the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
