Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 15-year-old Chael Aku who was reported as a runaway.

Aku was last seen on the 100 block of Pauahi Street, in Hilo, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at about 12:10 p.m. 

He is described as Hawaiian, with a fair complexion, thin build, about 5-feet 2-inches tall, 110 pounds, with curly black hair and light green eyes.  He was last seen wearing dark colored shorts, a white shirt with colorful cartoon characters on the front and a camouflage print hoodie.

Police ask anyone with information on Aku’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311, or contact Officer Christa Brodie at christa.brodie@hawaiicounty.gov.
