4-28-21 Kawaihae Road Remains Reduced to One Lane Due to Utility Work (Update)

As of 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2021, Hawai’i Police Department reports that Kawaihae Road between the 63 and 64 mile marker will remain reduced to one lane of contra-flowed traffic for another few hours as crews continue to work on the road.

One lane of the road was closed earlier this morning due to a utility pole that was damaged as a result of an accident.

Police and emergency crews remain on scene, please drive with caution in the area.
