Hawaiʻi Island police have charged 20-year-old Railee Keoni Santos of Mountain View, who reportedly escaped from the Hale Nani correctional facility on February 16.

Thursday afternoon police and State Sheriff’s deputies located Santos in Mountain View, where he was arrested and taken to the Hilo police cellblock while detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continued the investigation.

At 10:35 p.m. Thursday, Santos was charged with second-degree escape, violating terms of probation and contempt of court. His bail was set at $10,150. He remained at the cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Friday (May 1).
