5-18-21 Puna Man Charged With Burglary and Property Damage

Hawai’i Island Police have charged 35-year-old Thomas Bowers, of Puna, in connection with a burglary investigation from the Volcano Area.

After receiving tips from the public, Officers from the Puna Community Police Section and Officers from the Area I Special Enforcement Unit located wanted suspect Thomas Bowers at a store in Volcano.  He was wanted in connection with a warrant of arrest for burglary in the first degree and criminal property damage in the first degree. 

On May 12, 2021 at 9:00 a.m., after conferring with prosecutors, Bowers was charged for both offenses.  His bail was set at $20,000.  He made his first court appearance on May 14, 2021 where he remains in custody at Hawai’i Community Correction Facility.
