5-27-21 Police Advise Public of Road Closure in Hōnaunau Due to Traffic Investigation

The Hawai‘i Police Department is advising the public of a temporary road closure of Keala O Keawe Road (Highway 160) between the entrance of Pu’uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park and Hōnaunau Beach Road on Thursday, May 27, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Motorists will be able to access Pu’uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park from the north (makai) and motorists traveling on Hōnaunau Beach Road will only be able to travel southbound on Keala O Keawe Road during this time period.

The Area II Traffic Enforcement Unit will be conducting further investigations of a traffic incident that had occurred previously.

Motorists are asked to drive with caution during this time and take alternate routes if possible. Please plan trips accordingly and expect delays when traveling through the area.
