Hawai’i Island police have identified a female who died following a single vehicle collision that occurred on Monday evening, June 14, 2021, on Government Beach Road in the area of Papaya Farms Road in Puna.

She is identified as 49-year-old Fawn K. Jost, of Pahoa, Hawaii.

An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, but police are awaiting the toxicology results before making a final determination.

The East Hawai’i Traffic Enforcement Unit has initiated a Coroner’s Inquest investigation which remains pending. If anyone witnessed the accident or has information you may contact Officer Blayne Matsui at (808) 961-2339 or via email at Blayne.Matsui@HawaiiCounty.gov.
