Media Release

Hawai‘i Island police report that their communications and 9-1-1 call center is now operational to receive calls from landlines and cellular phones with the exception of those who use Verizon as a service provider. People who have Verizon as a service carrier should continue to call the police department’s non-emergency line in the event they experience an emergency. An update will be provided when the 9-1-1 system is fully restored.

Hawai‘i Police Department thanks the public for their patience while this problem is being corrected.
