Hawaiʻi Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 74-year-old William Hammett of Volcano. He was last seen walking in the Fern Forest Subdivision in Volcano at the end of May 2024; however, he was not reported missing until recently.

Hammett is considered an endangered missing person due to his age.

Hammett has a light complexion, 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 175 pounds, with medium-length white hair, a white beard, and blue eyes. 

Police ask anyone with information about Hammett’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.
