Media Release

As keiki prepare for the new school year, Hawai‘i Police Department would like to remind motorists in Honoka‘a that starting Tuesday, August 3, 2021, the one-way traffic pattern on Pakalana Street will be in effect Mondays through Fridays, on school days, between 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm.

All vehicular traffic should only be traveling mauka (south) on school days.

Motorists are also reminded to drive with caution on Pakalana Street as students will be using many crosswalks on Pakalana Street to get to their classes since the school campus is on both sides of the road.

Police request the public drive with patience and aloha as the new school year begins.
