Hawai‘i Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 47-year-old Sherwood Masaoka who was reported missing. He was last seen on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, around 2 p.m. on  Waiānuenue Avenue in Hilo.

He is described as Hawaiian with a tan complexion, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white hospital gown and may also be in need of medical attention.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 or contact Officer sean.phelan@hawaiicounty.gov.
