Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 15-year-old Shaelynn Gomes who was reported as a runaway.

Gomes was last seen in the vicinity of 8 ½ Mile Camp in Kea‘au on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. wearing a woodland camouflage jacket, black pants, and unknown footwear.  

She is described as having a slim build and an olive complexion, 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, with long brown hair and brown eyes. Gomes has a tattoo of a dove on her right shoulder.

Police ask anyone who may have any information on Gomes’ whereabouts to contact the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
