Media Release

The Kona Community Policing Section, in partnership with the nonprofit organization Aloha Maps, will be holding a (Hydro) Flask Drive in Kona for schools and students in need.  New “hydro” flasks or refillable water bottles may be dropped off at the Kona Police Station, which would then be distributed to those schools and students most in need.

During the pandemic, many schools added water filling stations to prevent students from sharing the older style water drinking fountains, thus limiting the possibility of exposure.  Due to this change, many schools have added water bottles/”hydro” flasks to their school supply lists, which can be costly and not feasible for many families on a budget.

The donated items may be dropped off at the Kealakehe Police Station from now until the end of November.

Your contribution to help a student/family in need is greatly appreciated.
