An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, December 19, 2006) on the body of a California man who apparently drowned Sunday in waters at Kehena Beach in Puna.

The victim has been identified at Johathan Cupp, 45, of Hollywood.

Police received a report of a swimmer lifeless in the water at 2:19 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived at the scene, rescue personnel from the Fire Department were attempting to revive the victim with cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Fire Department personnel then transported the victim to Hilo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The case has been classified as a coroner’s inquest.
