MEDIA RELEASE

Preliminary results of an autopsy conducted Wednesday (January 3, 2001) indicate that a woman whose body was found at the base of a cliff near Kehena Beach, Puna, died of injuries as the result of an accidental fall.

The cause of death was determined to be the result of multiple traumatic head, abdominal and chest injuries caused by a fall from a height.

The victim was identified as Ute Leinmuller, 41, also known as Sunami, of no permanent address.

Police have reclassified this case from a coroner’s inquest to a fatal public accident.
