Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who has been passing counterfeit $10 bills in Hilo.

The man attempted to pass a counterfeit $10 bill at two different locations in the Kaumana area on September 21, 2006.

He is described as Japanese and in his 20s with a slim build and shoulder-length blond hair. He is often seen wearing a baseball cap.

Police ask anyone with any information about this person to call Officer Chris Correia of South Hilo Patrol at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
