Driver licensing hours revised 09-16-02

MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii County Police Department has revised the hours its Hilo office will be open for driver licenses from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.

The business hours for the Traffic Services Section had been from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Traffic Services Section will take applications for permits, renewals or duplicates from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.

Sergeant Randy K. Apele, head of the Traffic Services Section, said the new hours were set so that drivers licensing personnel can adequately prepare for business without applicants having to wait.
