…charged with meth trafficking and other offenses

A 36-year-old Puna man has been charged with 10 drug offenses, including meth trafficking, following a two-month investigation by the Hard Drugs Detail of the Hawaii Police Department’s Area I Vice Section.

Jason Kaleo Ledward of Kea’au was arrested Tuesday (March 31) and charged with three counts of meth trafficking, three counts of promoting a dangerous drug, three counts of drug paraphernalia and one count of promoting a detrimental drug. He was released after posting $61,250 bail.

During the course of the investigation, police recovered approximately 4.5 ounces (172.5 grams) of crystal methamphetamine with a wholesale street value of $16,000. Police also recovered three motor vehicles and a custom built motorcycle, as well as $1,435 in cash, for forfeiture.
