Media Release (update No. 2)

The Hawaii Police Department has added dates in South Kohala, Puna and Ka’u for public informational meetings about the Taser electronic control device.

The meetings will include an explanation about the device, a demonstration of its use and time for questions and answers. All interested members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Public meetings in Hilo were held last week. The remaining meetings will take place on the following dates at the following locations from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.:

  • Monday, December 3, at the Kealakehe Intermediate School cafeteria in Kona
  • Tuesday, December 4, at the Kealakehe Intermediate School cafeteria in Kona
  • Thursday, December 6, at the Kealakehe Intermediate School cafeteria in Kona
  • Thursday, December 13, at the Naalehu Community Center
  • Friday, December 14, at Keaau Middle School (Music Building – Choral Room)
  • Monday, December 17 at the Waimea Community Center
