Media Release

The most recent edition of the Crime Stoppers television program “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” features a Kailua-Kona woman wanted for several bench warrants, a Puna man wanted for the sexual assault of a minor, and a man who robbed a Waimea pharmacy.

The new episode begins airing Friday, November 28.

In it, police ask for the public’s help in locating 32-year-old Sarah Keele, who is wanted for failing to appear in court for several drug charges, including promoting “ice.” She is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-5, 180 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair.

The television program also renews its request for the public’s help in locating 28-year-old Mauro Martin Ortiz, who is wanted for sexually assaulting a female minor on June 22 in Hawaiian Paradise Park. On July 10, a grand jury indicted Ortiz for sexual assault and kidnapping. His bail was set at $1 million. He is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-6, about 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. Police caution the public not to approach Ortiz but to call police if they know where he is.

“Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” also asks for the public’s help in identifying an unknown man who robbed a Waimea pharmacy on June 10th with what appeared to be a handgun. He entered the pharmacy off Kawaihae Road with his face obscured and demanded drugs. He then fled the area on foot. He is described as about 30 years old, between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-2 with a medium-to-slightly-husky build. He was wearing camouflage clothing.

The host of “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted,” Assistant Chief Henry Tavares, asks anyone with information about the wanted persons to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo and 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers calls are kept confidential. Crime Stoppers does not tape record phone calls or subscribe to caller ID.

“Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” is a project of Crime Stoppers Hilo, Inc., which is a partnership of the business community, the media and the police. It was inspired by the national TV show, “America’s Most Wanted.”

The program airs on Na Leo O Hawaii Community Television Channel 54 on Sundays at 5 p.m. and Fridays at 5:30 p.m. It also airs intermittently on Channel 53.
