Big Island police are looking for a 22-year-old man who has been missing since November 25, 1999.

The missing person, John Cameron Reece, of a Volcano address, was last seen at the entrance to Pololu Valley in North Kohala. Investigators have determined that Reece had intended to hike into the valley.

Reece is described as being a Caucasian, being 5-feet-10 in height, weighing about 155 pounds with a slim build and having short brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing camouflage pants and a light-colored T-shirt and carrying a backpack.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Albert Pacheco of the Kona Criminal Investigation Section at 326-4230 or the police emergency number at 935-3311.
