MEDIA RELEASE

A 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead Friday (April 14, 2000) of undetermined causes after he was taken to the Hilo Medical Center.

At 7:36 a.m., Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of an unresponsive male at a Baker Street address in Hilo’s Keaukaha area.

The youth, identified as Sheldon Kamohai, was transported by Fire Rescue personnel to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:30 a.m.

The cause of death is undetermined pending the results of an autopsy, and the case has been classified as a coroner’s inquest.
