East Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section detectives have charged a twenty-nine year-old Hilo woman with second degree attempted murder and third degree assault in connection with an incident which occurred late yesterday afternoon (February 5, 2007).

Diana T. Klegner was arrested shortly before 6:00 p.m. yesterday (February 5, 2007) by South Hilo Patrol officers responding to a reported affray at an apartment complex in lower Waiakea Uka. Upon the officers’ arrival, they learned that a forty year-old woman had been stabbed numerous times and the person responsible had been restrained at the scene by two bystanders.
