MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

Police released a 35-year-old Milolii man Saturday (March 10, 2003) pending further investigation into a case in which his wife was shot in the abdomen.

Meanwhile, his wife is reported in stable condition at the Kona Community Hospital.

Responding to an 8:23 a.m. call Saturday, police arrived at the couple’s Milolii residence to find the woman shot in the abdomen.

The victim was taken to the Kona hospital, and the husband was arrested for first-degree assault and related firearm offenses.

The Kona Criminal Investigation Section is continuing the investigation and will refer the case to the prosecutor’s office for a charging decision.
