Shortly before  noon Tuesday (April 2), while technicians were conducting repairs to the Hawaiʻi Island tsunami warning siren system, the warning sirens were inadvertently activated island wide.

There is no emergency.

The Hawaiʻi Police Department deeply regrets any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused and thanks the public for understanding.
