MEDIA RELEASE

Police do not suspect foul play in a fatal public accident at a construction site last month.

South Hilo patrol officers responded to the accident at Komohana and Nowelo Streets in Hilo around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2006.

Witnesses reported that Travis Patterson, 27, of Pahoa was fatally injured when he was pinned between a building “I-beam” and the man lift basket he was operating. He was transported to Hilo Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Police have classified the case as an industrial accident.
