Big Island police are investigating an attempted robbery in the Ka’ū district over the weekend.

A 28-year-old Hawaiian Ocean View Estates resident reported that he was confronted by three men while walking on Lehua Lane around 10:30 a.m. Saturday (November 13). The men reportedly asked the victim for marijuana and money and then attempted to reach into his pockets. During the struggle, the victim fell to the ground and one of the assailants cut him on the left shoulder with a sharp object.

The three men fled on foot. They were described only as Micronesian.

The victim was treated at Pahala Hospital for a laceration to the shoulder and released.

Police ask that anyone with information about the case call Detective Charles Adams at 326-4646, extension 262, or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
