Big Island police have charged a Ka’u man arrested in connection with a rifle that was reportedly fired in a residential area.

At 2:30 p.m. Tuesday (November 16), detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section charged Regulo Jara of Nā’ālehu with first-degree reckless endangering and three counts of first-degree terroristic threatening. He remains in the Kona police cellblock in lieu of $40,000 bail pending his initial court appearance.
