A 47-year-old man is in the Kona police cellblock while police investigate allegations he threatened three Pahala men with a gun in two separate incidents last week.

Ka’u patrol officers responded to a report on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, that a man threatened two men, ages 28 and 38, at a home on Pakalana Street in Pahala around 10 p.m.

Police investigation revealed that he fired four to six shots during the confrontation. The suspect, Danny Alimea, left the scene before police arrived and allegedly went to another home on Huapala Street and threatened a 26-year-old man with the gun.

Police issued an all-points bulletin for Alimea. They arrested him at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, on suspicion of terroristic threatening and reckless endangering.

The case has been referred to the Criminal Investigations Section in Kona for further investigation. Alimea remains in custody pending a charging decision.
