Hawaii County police are looking for witnesses to an assault in Kealakekua on Halloween.

Three teenage boys were shooting paintballs at the scenic park located at the bottom of Halekii Street around 8:25 p.m. on October 31. Youths complained and the teenager with the paintball gun left the area but his two friends remained.

One of them, a 17-year-old Hawaiian Ocean View Estates boy, was struck in the face by an unknown assailant and knocked to the ground. He suffered a broken jaw.

Police are asking any witnesses to the assault to call Officer David Matsushima at 326-4646, extension 253, or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.
