A Kona man is in police custody after allegedly threatening three people with a pipe early Wednesday (March 3).

Kona patrol officers responded to a 1:45 a.m. report that a man had entered a home in the Kalaoa subdivision in Kona armed with a metal pipe-like object and threatened to harm three residents-a 20-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man.

Officers obtained the suspect’s identify. At 3:30 p.m. police arrested him outside his Kalaoa home on suspicion of burglary and three counts of terroristic threatening.

The suspect, Sonny Cabuag, is being held at the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continue the investigation.
