…charged in connection with mail theft

Media Release

Detectives in the Kona Criminal Investigations Section have charged a Kona man with several offenses, including theft, drug offenses, credit card offenses, and the theft of mail.

Paul Ebel, 40, of Honomalino was charged with five counts of theft, five counts of possession of confidential identification, two counts of ID theft, drug paraphernalia, promoting a detrimental drug, theft of a credit card, and fraudulent use of a credit card. Most of the charges stem from a search warrant that was executed at his Honomalino home. The search warrant led to the recovery of stolen burglary items and stolen mail.

Ebel is being detained in the Kona Police Station Cellblock. His bail was set at $80,000.
