MEDIA RELEASE

Big Island police seized a total of 3,918 marijuana plants ranging in height from seedlings to seven feet during the past two days as part of its continuing “Counter-Cannabis Field Operation.”

The plants were seized in an area extending from Napoopoo in South Kona to Hawaiian Ocean View Estates in Ka’u.

Joining Big Island police officers in the marijuana eradication enforcement effort were personnel from the State Department of Conservation and Resources Enforcement and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

No one was arrested and no unusual incidents were reported in the two-day operation.
