Kona Murder investigation update 10-18-05

MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

On Monday, October 17, 2005, an autopsy was performed on the infant that was a victim of a stabbing at a residence, in Kalaoa, Kona, on October 12, 2005. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was due to traumatic injury to the neck. In addition to the autopsy, detectives are awaiting the results of laboratory tests currently being performed. West Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section detectives expect the test to be completed in 4 to 6 weeks.

As previously mentioned, the 16 year old female minor that was arrested at the scene has been charged for Murder in the Second Degree and she currently remains in custody. She is presently scheduled for another appearance in Family Court.
