Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in solving a burglary in Laupahoehoe.

An unknown person or persons entered a home in the Waipunalei area sometime between 4 p.m. May 11 and noon May 14 and removed a classical guitar made in Argentina with a carving of a head, a red and white king size Hawaiian quilt with lily designs and other miscellaneous items.

The victim is offering a reward for recovery of the quilt.

Police ask anyone with information about the burglary to call Officer Henry Chong at 962-2120 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
