A 55-year-old Kona man was arrested shortly after a robbery at a Kailua-Kona pharmacy on Saturday (October 25).

At 8:35 a.m. Saturday, Kona patrol officers responded to a pharmacy at the corner of Kuakini Highway and Walua Road. They learned that a man had entered the pharmacy and threatened to blow it up unless he was given drugs.

He fled on foot after being given undisclosed medication.

Hart of Kailua-Kona was arrested after a short foot pursuit and taken to the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continued the investigation.

At noon Sunday (October 26), detectives charged him with second-degree robbery. His bail was set at $5,000. He remained at the cellblock until his initial court appearance on Monday (October 27).
