Big Island police are searching for a 9-year-old Puna boy who has been missing since Wednesday afternoon (March 14).

The missing child is identified as Disen Hue-Aragaki. He is described as Filipino, 4-foot-6, 60 pounds, with a slim build,  short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing camouflage surf shorts and no shirt.

He apparently left his home—which is located just below the J. Hara Store—around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday following an argument.

Officers and detectives from Puna Patrol, the Juvenile Aid Section, the Criminal Investigations Section, the Vice Section and the Traffic Enforcement Unit are scouring the area, along with the aid of a scent-discriminating dog and a helicopter.

Police ask that anyone who may have seen the child or who has any information about his whereabouts call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or Detective Joel Field at 961-2381.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
