MISSING PERSONS

MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

Big Island police have located a Puna man and his female acquaintance who had been reported missing since late June 2005.

The two were identified as Denton Edmund Lee Freitas, 32, and Sharina Pavao, 23.

Acting on an anonymous tip, Puna patrol officers arrested Freitas at noon at a Hawaiian Beaches subdivision address for three outstanding warrants. They also located Pavao, who was reported in good health, at the same address.

The location of Freitas and Pavao was made possible by several calls from the public to Crime Stoppers and police, and a department spokesman thanked members of the public for their help in locating the two.
