Big Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 51-year-old Japanese National.

Hiromichi Yoshino was last seen in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Wednesday (February 13) at approximately 8:57 a.m. Yoshino’s rented vehicle, a burgundy colored Kia four-door sedan was found unlocked and unattended at the end of Route 130 at the Lava Viewing area. The vehicle is believed to have been there since Thursday (February 14). Yoshino may have been staying at a bed and breakfast in Volcano Village.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call Officer Shea Nactor of Puna Patrol at (808) 965-2716 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.
