Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 19-year-old Big Island woman who was reported missing on Monday (January 4).

Britney Dawson was last seen at Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo on or near December 27 around 4:30 p.m. She was supposed to catch a bus to Pāhoa that day to meet with a male acquaintance of hers known as “Manuel” with an unknown last name.

She is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-10, 150 pounds with a slim build, long straight brown hair, brown eyes, and a fair complexion with freckles on her face. She has a tattoo of the name “NYIIYAH” on her back. She was last seen wearing green shorts and a white T-shirt. She was carrying an olive-colored purse.

Police ask that anyone with information about her whereabouts call Officer Joshua Gouveia at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
