The Hawai’i Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 50-year-old woman who has been missing from her Hilo care home since Thursday (September 17).

Cheryl Pavao was last seen leaving her care home on Hokulani Street at 6:30 a.m. as a passenger in the Hawaii Economic Opportunity Council transport van. Pavao was transported to Hale O’luea Clubhouse on Kilauea Avenue and was expected to return to the care home at 3 p.m. She has not been seen since.

Pavao has been known to travel to the Puna area, specifically Hawaiian Paradise Park.  She suffers from a medical condition that requires medication.

She is described as 5-foot-one, 108 pounds with a slim build, tan complexion and shoulder-length brown hair. Pavao was last seen wearing a brown jacket and blue denim jeans.

Police ask that anyone with information on her whereabouts call Officer Blaine Morishita at 961-2211 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.  All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
