A 52-year-old Puna man died Saturday (September 20, 2003) when his motorcycle collided with a car on the Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 130) at the intersection with Maku’u Drive in Pahoa.

The victim was identified as Ezekiel Kalani Abraham, of an Ainaola subdivision address.

Responding to an 11:19 a.m. call, police determined that the victim was operating his 1987 Harley Davidson, traveling toward Keaau, when the motorcycle was struck by a 1989 Toyota four-door sedan emerging from the Maku’u Drive intersection.

Abraham was taken to the Hilo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4 p.m.

Traffic Enforcement Unit officers are continuing an investigation into the collision and have ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Police are also asking that anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information that would further the investigation to call Officer Norbert Serrao of the Traffic Enforcement Unit at 961-2332.
