A Puna Patrol officer was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening Thursday (September 7, 2000) after being arrested on a warrant issued by the District Court of the Third Circuit.

Officer Sherwin Taka, 40, was arrested at 2:45 p.m. at the Puna District station in Keaau for allegedly making separate threats against two males. One incident occurred in Hilo, and the other occurred in Pahala, Ka’u.

Taka was released at 8:30 p.m. after posting $20,000 bail.
