The Hawaii Police Department is investigating a reported assault at Kau Hale Olu apartments in Pepe’ekeo.

The victim reported than an unknown male knocked on his front door Friday (May 1) at about 4:30 p.m. As the victim opened the door, the suspect assaulted him and left the area.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, about 5-foot-6, 140-150 pounds with blond hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and slippers. He was last seen on foot heading east on Kumula Street in Pepe’ekeo.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who may have seen a person matching that description call Officer Kimo Keliipaakaua at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
