Police are asking for the public’s assistance in seeking witnesses to a robbery that occurred in a parking lot fronting a video store in Hilo.

On August 27, 2003 between the hours of 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm, a male victim was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money after being pepper sprayed by a male suspect in the parking lot fronting Block Buster Videos on Puainako Street in Hilo.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, early to mid 30’s, approximately 5’10” – 6’1″ tall, weighing about 165-175 pounds, fair complexion and bald. Suspect was last seen wearing green army type pants and a light colored t-shirt.

The Suspect was seen leaving in a light colored truck and may have been in the company of another Caucasian male and female.

The public is asked to call Detective Greg Esteban of the Criminal Investigations Section at 961-2384.
