CRIME STOPPERS RELEASE

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a backhoe stolen sometime between May 28 and June 5, 1999, in West Hawaii.

The backhoe is a 1991 model 580K with the serial number of JJG0029244 and an internal Hawaii Bitumuls Co. number of 211. It is valued at $50,000.

The equipment was transported on May 28, 1999, from the West Hawaii Concrete temporary quarry off Waikoloa Road to the company’s permanent baseyard off Mamalahoa Highway in South Kohala. It was last seen being transported from the baseyard along Mamalahoa Highway in a semi-trailer truck being driven by an unknown driver on June 5, 1999.
